PASIC 2012 Gear Guide

This year’s PASIC brought with it thousands of eager drummers, who spent hours playing and jamming on hundreds of exhibitor products. I had the privilege of taking in the sights and sounds of some incredible products—and have presented my top three picks from Austin, Texas!

Black Widow Drum Web

This thing is amazing and was a huge hit at PASIC! They even had it set up on hockey ice in their promo DVD, and the kick drum did not move when played. Check it out online at www.blackwidowdrumweb.com

What started out as a fence-post covering is now being endorsed by Evelyn Glennie. Check them out at www.aluphone.com

The Dube

This thing is about the coolest instrument I have ever seen. In fact, Richie “Gajate” Garcia and son, Roland, stopped by the Dube booth for a wee jam—and they clearly felt the same. You can visit creator Dion and his team at www.thedube.com
