Paradiddle Pyramid

Paradiddle Pyramid

Hello! I hope all is well in the drum world. This month’s lesson came about after one of you kind lot emailed and asked about paradiddles. So that brings us to this classic exercise called The Paradiddle Pyramid. It consists of playing four single paradiddles, four double paradiddles and four triple paradiddles and going back down the pyramid playing another four doubles and then finally four singles.

The key with this exercise is to keep it nice and loose, using full strokes to get the best sound out of a drum and making the sticks work for you.

If you’re new to these paradidle rudiments I suggest working on each of them separately, and when they’re all cooking, then put the whole exercise together.

Everything else is explained in the video, so I hope you enjoy this lesson and if you have any questions feel free to get in touch.
