Understanding the Styles: Funk
Technique by Ryan Carver // October 02 2010
I have been fortunate to perform a series of clinics. In each one I created a handout with some tips for playing different styles. It’s important to understand the basics of the various styles of grooves. I try to give you a couple of grooves in that style with some tips for making each groove work in that particular style. It’s always important to listen to the style you would like to play. This month is the funk page. Here are a couple of grooves to play some funk styles. Follow the tips and listen to the grooves!
